Questions we hear a lot
If yours isn't here, message us and we will answer.
How do I try a class?
Pick a class from the schedule and book it on our registration page. You can also call the studio on a weeknight evening or send a message.
Which class is right for me?
If you have never danced, start with beginner ballet or beginner tap. If you danced as a child or a teenager, try ballet again. Tell the teacher at the door and they will move you if you want something different.
I haven't danced since I was young. Is it too late?
No. Most of our students stopped years ago. Classes are an hour, you can rest whenever you need to, and the teacher will show a smaller version of any step.
Do I need a partner?
No. Nothing here is danced in pairs. Come alone or with a friend.
What should I wear?
Anything you can move in, with your hair tied back. Socks are fine for the first weeks, and we will tell you when ballet slippers or tap shoes would help.
May a friend or family member watch?
In the last week of each term, yes. See the studio policies for how watching works.
What is a level, and how do I move up?
A level is a group of classes with the same pace. You move on when you ask to or your teacher suggests it and you agree. There is no test.
What are the extras?
Ballet slippers and tap shoes are yours to buy. The showing in May is optional. There are no costumes, entry costs or travel.
What if I miss a class?
Book a make-up in another class at your level during the same term.
How does tuition work?
It depends on how many classes a week you take and whether you choose ballet, tap or both. The page on how tuition works has the rest.
