Studio policies
How the studio runs, from photos to snow days.
Photos
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Watching class and the May showing
Friends and family are welcome to watch in the last week of each term, from the benches along the wall. On other days the door stays closed so the class can hear its teacher. The showing in May is optional and open to guests; photos and video from your seat are welcome, without flash.
What to wear
Wear something you can move in: a fitted or loose top, leggings, shorts or soft trousers. Hair is tied back off the neck. Socks are fine for the first weeks, and the teacher will tell you when ballet slippers or tap shoes would help. Bring water and a small towel.
When to stay home
Please stay home with a fever, a stomach bug or a cough that would keep you from joining in, and until you have felt well for a full day. Tell your teacher about anything that hurts, new or old; they will show you another way to do the step. Message us and we will tell you how to make the class up.
Missing a class
Life gets in the way, and nobody here keeps score. Let us know by message when you can, and book a make-up in another class at your level during the same term.
Phones and recording
Phones stay in the cubbies during class. Please don't film or photograph other students without asking them first, and ask your teacher before you record a combination for yourself.
Snow days and holidays
The studio closes on major holidays and when the roads are bad. We message everyone by early afternoon on a snow day and put a make-up class into the same term for each one we cancel.
Something we haven't covered?
Ask us before your first class and we will answer.
