Coming back
Ballet again
For adults who danced once and stopped. The barre will be familiar, the combinations are longer, and the teacher assumes you have heard the words before.
Marivic Guevarra teaches Monday and Thursday evenings; another teacher takes Tuesday and Sunday.
An hour, on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Sunday morning
Classes of up to 12 people
Level: coming back

What a class is like
- 01
Step 1: Arrive and settle
Find a spot at the barre. Most people stay in the same place for the term, and the person beside you will soon be a friend.
- 02
Step 2: Warm up
Floor and standing warm-up at an easy pace, with the teacher offering a smaller option for each movement.
- 03
Step 3: At the barre
A full barre in the order you may remember: plié, tendu, rond de jambe and more, with the French names said once and explained.
- 04
Step 4: In the middle
Adagio and a combination that grows by a few counts every week.
- 05
Step 5: Cool down
Walk it out, then stay for a few minutes: this is when people ask the teacher what they have forgotten.
What to wear and bring
Clothes you can move in
Close-fitting enough that the teacher can see your line, loose enough to breathe. Hair tied back.
Slippers, if you have them
Bring old ballet slippers if you kept them. Otherwise socks are fine, and the teacher will advise.
Water and a towel
Bring a bottle and a small towel, and leave your phone in the cubbies.
Try ballet again
Book a class on our registration page and tell the teacher what you have done before, even if it is nothing.
